ArasaKumar B T popularly knows as BT Kumar hailed from Maruthanthalai a remote village in Pudukottai district of South Tamilnadu (born 22 June 1968), Started his elementary school in Maruthanthalai of Pudukottai district later moved to Tiruvembur Government school for his fourth and fifth classes. Having completed his high school in Manaparai Government High school, Had the higher secondary education in Ponniah Higher secondary school, Palakarrai of Trichirappali. Further, he went on to complete his MA in History from Annamalai University.

Mr.Arasakumar is married to Ms.Kokila and is blessed with a daughter A.Shanmugapriya who is a Doctor MD his son in law P.M. Anbumaran is also Doctor MD and a son Mr.A.Karthick who works as a Director in Tamil film industry. He is very spiritual and God-fearing and performs various temple related activities like annathanam every year around his hometown. He was interested in politics right from his childhood and he started very young, at the age of 18 by attending political meetings. He grew to this stature without any political background and is a self-made person.

Predominant Political Activities (In chronological order)

  • Were the member of DMK from 1990 till 2000 and also the District linguistic wing president of the party between 1995 to 2000.
  • At the age of 28, he became the President, Panampatti Panchayat of Pudukkottai district of Tamilnadu in 1996 which consists of 8 villages, and served two terms till 2006 unanimously, as a result of fulfilling the basic needs of the public.
  • Contributed a significant amount for Kargil war soldier’s welfare fund to the then Chief Minister Karunanithi against the call from the then prime minister Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
  • Was a party representative to represent the all-party meeting convened by the then Prime Minister Shri.Atal Bihari Vajpayee regarding the Cauvery issue. Was nominated to the all-party delegation by the then Chief Minister Smt.Jayalalitha.
  • Founder of the DVK Party (Dravida Vizhipunarchi (Awareness Party) registered with the election commission of India in the year 2001.
  • In 2006, canvassed for DMK candidate in Madurai by-election in central assembly candidate in presences of Dr.Dr.Kalignar Karunanidhi along with Sri.G.K.Mani, president, Pattali Makkal Katchi, Sri.Vai.Ko, Founder of Marumalarchi Dravida Kazhagam along with Sri.Thol.Thirumavalavan, founder of Viduthalai Siruthaigal Party
  • DVK Party had an alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party in the year 2006 and contested for 5 seats in the Tamilnadu Assembly elections.
  • Contested in Marungapuri assembly (currently known as Manaparai of Trichy) constituency during 2006 in lotus symbol and secured 10000 votes.
  • Part of the election workforce formed under the then Tamilnadu BJP President and present Honourable Vice President of India, Sri.Venkiah Naidu.
  • Felt honored and blessed, when I got the opportunity to be the only leader to address in Advani Ji’s election campaign at Paramakudi.
  • Worked for BJP candidate Mr.Thirunavukarasar, former Union Minister.
  • Worked for Actor Mr.Karthik, leader of Ahila India Naadalum Makkal Katchi who had an alliance with BJP.
  • In 2011 converted DVK Party into National Forward Bloc and registered with the election commission of India.
  • He supported the AIADMK In the 2011 Assembly elections and campaigned for the AIADMK victory.
  • Contributed Rs.10 lakhs to the then chief minister Smt. Jayalalitha Madam for Meals donations scheme by the temples and also for Chief Minister’s relief fund.
  • In 2011 participated in the statue opening function of famous freedom fighter Sri. Maruthu Brothers along with the then Chief Minister Sri.M.Karunanithi, Spritual Guru Ponnambala Adikalar, and Famous Tamil Poet Sri.Vairamuthu
  • Participated in Vanniar festival organized by Pattali Makkal Katchi during 2013 at Mamallapuram, and was the second commandant for co-ordination of all backward caste association under one roof, thereby initiated to form a social engineering.
  • During 2014 parliament elections, contested in Ramnad Parliament constituency as an Independent candidate, secured equal vote to that of Communist party.
  • 2016 Merged the National Forward Block party with the Bharatiya Janata Party in presences of Shri.Muralidhar Rao, National General Secretary of BJP, contested in Muthukulathur Assembly election on behalf of  BJP
  • Organized ‘Chalo St.George Fort’ to protest against the TASMAC shops in Chennai on15.06.2017,  the very next day of his daughter’s marriage. Around 10000 participants participated.
  • Facilitated Honorable President of India Shri. Ramnath Govind, during his presidential election campaign with the Deputy Chief Minister Sri.O.Panner Selvam faction of AIADMK.
  • During the 2019 Parliament election, was responsible for Prime Minister’s election campaign at Madurai and Mobilization incharge for the Vandalur campaign meeting.
  • Incharge for the election campaign of Sri.Amith Shaj ji’s at Tuticorin along with the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, Sri.Edappadi Palanisamy, and Dy.Chief Minister of Tamilnadu Sri.O.Panneerselvam and with the alliance party leaders during the 2019 parliament election.
  • Organized all alliance party meeting at Kovilpatti lead by Honourable Sri. Piyush Goyal, Railway Minister during 2019 parliament election
  • Was convenor of Pulikesi constituency in Karnataka, which is the home constituency of the Honourable Cabinet Minister Sri.Sadananda Gowde, during the Karnataka assembly election and also canvassed Tamil voters in Ediyur constituency.
  • Participated in election work and rally at Prime Minister’s constituency Varanasi.

  • During December 2019, when he attended one of his relations marriages, who is a District Secretary of DMK, in Pudukottai the DMK president Mr.M.K.Stalin applauded him. As a result, there was a lot of unwanted criticism and humiliation that happened in the BJP party. Hence he resigned BJP and joined the DMK party and currently state executive committee member of DMK party.

  • Is a member of the prestigious Madras Race club.
  • Member of Tamilnadu Film producers’ association.

  • Spear-headed development at village panampatti by providing drinking water, roads and proper housing. Ensured no hut houses in the village.
  • Expanded schools and made higher education available to the poor village people of panampatti.
  • Donated for 50+ temples renovation and Kumbabishekam.
  • Contributed Rs.1 lakh to Manaparai Government School for compound wall building, Rs. 1 lakh for starting a separate Girls school in the same premises.
    In the home town contributed Rs.1 lakh for upgrading the school to higher secondary. Also contributed Rs.50,000/- to National Middle school, Manaparai.
  • Made significant contributions to  Christian churches, for Christian tomb, and also to Mosques in Manaparai.
  • Funding for the function of the famous temples like Sri Vepillai Mariyamman temple, Manaparai, Sri Periya Kandi Amman Verapur, Sri Nallandavar Alayam Manaparai, Viralimalai Sri Mei Kannudaiyal Shrine, Viralimalai Sri Subramaniyar shrine and Sri Kaliamman Temple Manaparai for more than 20 years.
  • Kumbabishekam committee member of the famous Viralimalai Murugan temple
  • Being philanthropist assisted lot of poor and needy for their economic and education uplift
  • Being a follower of the famous freedom fighter Sri. Muthuramaliga Thevar used to feed the pilgrims to the tune of around 15000 in numbers for the past fifteen years, who gather to mark the birthday and punniya Thithi at his memorial. During this occasion around 10000 ladies used to march with Milk vessel for doing abishekam to Sri.Muthuramalinga Thevar statue. This was completely organized by him.
